1. Your contract with Sunseeker Camper Hire
By taking the hire vehicle you are accepting theses terms and conditions. Please read this agreement carefully. If there is anything you do not understand or do not agree with please contact Sunseeker Campervan Hire
2. To Make a Reservation:
To make a reservation complete and send the reservation form with a
deposit of £100.00 per week of hire to Sunseeker campervan hire together.
The deposit will be deducted from the total hire charges when you are
invoiced.
The balance of the hire fees is to be paid 6 weeks before the hire of
the Campervan. If when making a reservation the hire period is sooner
than 6 weeks, full payment is required upon booking
3. Cancellations:
- Cancellation six weeks or more before start of hire: loss of deposit
- Cancellation between six and four weeks before start of hire: 50 %
of hire charges to be paid
- Cancellation less than four weeks before start of hire: Full cost of
hire charges to be paid
- No show: Hirer is liable for the full cost of rental.
Sunseeker campervan hire will do all it can to rehire the campervan and
if they are able to do so , you will be refunded up to a maximum of your
total hire charges less your deposit, subject to the amount Sunseeker
campervan hire is able to rehire the campervan for you.
Sunseeker campervan hire advises clients to take out Travel Insurance
to safeguard against cancellation charges.
4. Vehicle Insurance:
Cover is provided against third party injuries and £250,000 sterling for third party property damage. The hirer is protected against his legal liabilities towards the number of passengers applicable to the hire. During the hire period the hirer's responsibility towards the hired vehicle is limited to the amount of the refundable Bond.
5. Drivers Qualifications:
- Drivers must be aged 25 to 70 years, in full or part time employment or retired.
- Drivers must present a full domestic licence (both parts) with a least two-year's driving experience for each driver (valid International Drivers Permit is required by those travelling to Europe), utility bill, passport and a valid credit card at the start of hire.
- Drivers must complete a standard insurance questionnaire; have no serious accidents, convictions or medical conditions. Contact Sunseeker campervan hire if in doubt. No refund will be given if at the start of hire a vehicle is allocated but no member of the party can comply with the above conditions, If a member of a party can subsequently fulfil the above conditions, the hire will be treated as a late arrival.
6. Drivers:
Our vehicles have manual transmissions and are right hand drive. The cost of hire allows one driver per vehicle. Other drivers may be added at a cost of £25 each per week. All daily tariffs are based upon a UK Citizen aged 25 – 70 who has held a driving license for more than 24 months and has no endorsements or convictions travelling in the UK. If you’re your circumstances are outside this criteria an insurance surcharge may be applied.
7. Insurance Restrictions:
- We allow our Campervans to travel to the following countries: UK, Isle of Man, Channel Islands, Republic of Ireland, all islands of the Mediterranean (excluding Northern Cyprus) and the following countries of mainland Europe: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain (excluding Ceuta and Melilla), Sweden and Switzerland.
Cover does not apply to territories beyond mainland Europe. - UK and Continental driving C.D.W (Collision Damage Waiver) is mandatory for all hires and is included in the rental rate. It covers damage to your vehicle and any damage to third party vehicles or property. If any accident occurs we will not provide another vehicle unless a further hire fee is paid and subject to availability of another vehicle. A delivery charge may also be payable.
- If another vehicle is supplied a refundable deposit for the insurance excess shall be payable before the secondary vehicle is supplied in addition to the hire charges and shall be held against any late returns, full tank of fuel, gas, cleaning or loss or damage to furnishings or equipment as necessary.
8. European Hire:
Clients must advise Sunseeker campervan hire of the countries they wish to tour before the commencement of hire to enable us to obtain the necessary International Insurance, Green Card, and Spanish Bail Bonds etc.
9. European Touring Security (ETS.):
This is compulsory for vehicles travelling to Europe and is included
in the rental rate. It covers roadside breakdown service, provision of
rental car and a contribution towards the cost of accommodation whilst
the vehicle is being repaired; the costs of recovery of a vehicle; the
repatriation of hirers and accompanying passengers to our Sunseekers
if the vehicle can not be repaired or driven due to an accident subject
to contribution by the hirer of the amount equivalent to petrol consumption
and cost of ferry, had the hirer been able to drive the vehicle back
to our Northchapel depot.
10. Credit Card Authorisation and Bond:
When collecting a campervan a £750 bond is required, this is fully refundable as long as the vehicle has been returned undamaged, in a clean state with a full tank of full
11. Broken Windscreens, Tyres, Door Locks and Overhead Roof Damage:
Broken windscreens, tyres, and damage to door locks, other windows or any damage to roof is at the hirer's expense.
12. Breakdown:
- The hirer is responsible for minor running repairs, such as punctures and light bulbs. If a breakdown occurs, the hirer must contact the A.A whilst in the UK or use the European Touring Security (see instruction booklet supplied with the vehicle) whilst in Europe or Ireland.
- To rectify more serious problems, hirers may spend up to £50.00 without authority from Sunseeker campervan hire. Reimbursement will be made at the end of the hire on production of receipt and, where applicable, the defective parts. An authorised dealer for the vehicle you are driving must do repair work. It is the hirer's responsibility to make sure work is completed satisfactorily.
- Hirers must not spend or authorise repairs to the vehicle in excess of £50.00 sterling without the prior consent of a senior staff member of campervan hire, otherwise the additional cost of repair will be at the expense of the hirer. Vehicles up to one year old must have mechanical faults rectified under the manufacturer's warranty.
- Reimbursement for tyres purchased by hirer, even if authorised by Sunseeker campervan hire, will be considered only if the defective tyre is returned to Sunseeker campervan hire.
- Sunseeker campervan hire is not responsible for Hotel charges in the event of an accident or breakdown and its liability in the event of a breakdown will be limited to the provision of a full replacement vehicle and/or refund of hire charges for any full day (24hr) loss of vehicle use Subject to agreement to such refund at time of breakdown and subject to the decision whether to reimburse loss of vehicle use or provide replacement vehicle being entirely at the discretion of Sunseeker campervan hire.
13. Maintenance of Vehicles:
For hirers travelling a distance of 10000 miles or 16000 kilometres or more, servicing according to manufacturer's service schedule is at the expense of the hirer. Proof of servicing (i.e.: dealership receipt) must be provided to Sunseeker campervan hire on completion of the hire. Failure to provide a receipt will result in the forfeiture of the Bond. It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure that the proper levels of oil, water and air are maintained. Any malfunction or breakdown caused by negligence of the hirer shall be made good at the expense of the hirer.
14. Availability:
Every effort will be made to ensure that the reserved vehicle is available at the agreed time. However, we reserve the right to substitute the vehicle when the other vehicle is unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control. In the event of no suitable vehicle being available, our liability is strictly limited to all moneys paid. Pick up and drop off, Monday to Sunday 9.00 am – 4.30 pm by arrangement with Sunseeker campervan hire.
15. Late Arrivals:
- If a hirer fails to arrive by the latest time of collection on the start of hire day, Sunseeker campervan hire reserves the right to re let the allocated vehicle, and admits no responsibility or inconvenience to, or cancellation charges for, other pre-¬booked expenditure by the hirer.
- Any refund to the hirer resulting from re letting of the allocated vehicle will be limited to days during the booked hire period.
- If no similar vehicle is available after subsequent arrival of the hirer, Sunseeker campervan hire will not reimburse days lost before arrival, or allow free extra days to be added on to the end of hire.
16. Late Returns:
All vehicles must be returned by 4.30pm. Any vehicles returned after 4.30 without prior agreement will incur of £120 per day late return fee. Prior agreement needs to be obtained from Sunseeker campervan hire a minimum of 24 hours before the originally return date.
17. Extension of Hire:
If you wish to extend you hire, you must get prior agreement from Sunseeker campervan hire a minimum of 24 hours before the original return date.
18. Delays at Start or End of Hire:
Sunseeker campervan hire admits no liability for delays in procedures at start or end of hire, which have arisen due to unforeseen circumstances.
19. Safety Belts:
All vehicles are fitted with both front and rear safety belts. Child/booster seats can be fitted to all models, but Sunseeker campervan hire admits no liability if such seats fail to prevent injury due to non conformity with British Safety Standards
20. British Sales Tax (VAT):
Unless expressly stated to the contrary, prices in this brochure include U.K. V.A.T at standard rate. This is currently 17.5% but the charge will be varied in the event of standard rate being changed by the U.K. Government.
21. Your responsibilities:
It is your responsibility to look after the campervan and the keys to the campervan.
It is your responsibility to lock the campervan when you are not using it, and use any security device fitted to or supplied with the campervans. You must always protect the campervan against bad weather, which can cause damage. You must make sure that you use the correct fuel. You are responsible for any damage to the campervan caused by hitting low-level objects such as bridges or low branches.
You must not sell, rent or dispose of the campervan or any of its part. You must not give anyone any legal right over the campervan.
You must let Sunseeker Campervan Hire know as soon as you become aware of a fault in the campervan.
22. Conditions of use:
The campervan must only be driven by you and any other driver named on the hire insurance policy.
- You or any other driver must not
- Use the campervan for hire or reward
- Use the campervan for any illegal purposes
- Use the campervan for racing, pace making, testing the campervans reliability and speed or teaching someone to drive
- Use the campervan while under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Drive the campervan outsider England, Scotland and Wales, unless we have given you written permission.
23. General Conditions:
No servant or agent of Sunseeker campervan hire has authority to vary these conditions and no representative, other employee or agent of Sunseeker campervan hire is authorised to commit Sunseeker campervan hire to any liability whatsoever, and Sunseeker campervan hire will not be bound by any representation unless it is in writing and signed by a duly authorised member of their Head Office staff.
24. Fuel, Oil and Camping Gas:
Fuel, oil and camping gas are the responsibility of the hirer. Camping gas containers are provided by Sunseeker campervan hire, at a £20.00 charge per container including VAT.
25. Pets:
Pets are prohibited to travel in any of our campervans.
26. Smoking:
Smoking is strictly prohibited in any of our campervans.
27. Information:
If you break the agreement we can give the information that you have provided to credit reference agencies, the Driver and Vehicle Authority (DVLA), debt collectors and any other relevant organisation.
28. Governing Law:
This agreement is governed by the laws of the country in which it is signed. Any dispute may be settled in the courts of that country.
